Plant-powered Pop-Up || Bazaar and food sampling
The Office of Environmental Sustainability held its first ever plant-based food pop-up event during lunch time on 04 October 2019. The aim of the pop-up was to spread awareness about the environmental benefits of adopting a more plant-based diet.
The pop-up had two components: a bazaar and food sampling.
In the bazaar, various vegan pastries were sold…
… as well as fresh vegetables.
Also setting up booths in the bazaar were NUS students from NUS VEGE (Vision of Equality for a Greener Earth), a group trying to promote plant-based diets within NUS…
and abillionveg, an online directory of plant-based products and restaurants/eateries offering plant-based dishes.
Visitors to the pop-up could also redeem plant-based food to sample after answering two quiz questions correctly.
Overall, about 160 people attended. We thank our colleagues from the Office of Housing Services and Ridge View Residential College, as well as students from NUS VEGE, for helping to make this pop-up a success.
