Environmental Student Groups

NUS’ environmental student groups play a big part in promoting environmental sustainability both on and off campus, acting as a catalyst for change by heightening awareness of various sustainability issues such as climate change, resource conservation and biodiversity. 

There are currently more than 20 environmental student groups in NUS striving towards environmental sustainability in their respective communities. If you are an NUS student looking to get involved with sustainability, consider joining one of the many student-run environmental clubs, organisations and initiatives on campus. 

  • 1.5degreeNUS
    The group aims to expose students to industry-relevant sustainability skills. Its members believe that sustainability should not be treated as a niche area, but integrated  into foundational thinking across academic and vocational disciplines.
  • NUS Bitscraps
    A student club which focuses on repairing broken electronic items and also provides learning opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • NUS Student Energy
    The NUS chapter of Student Energy, a global youth organization that seeks to empower the next generation of leaders accelerating the transition to a sustainable, equitable energy future. 
  • Students' Association for Visions of the Earth (SAVE)
    The main environmental student organization in NUS at the forefront of promoting environmental awareness, activism, stewardship and initiating impactful environmental programmes in the university campus and beyond to fight climate change.
  • Toddycats
    Volunteers with the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum.
  • ConSHeares
    A student environmental group based in Sheares Hall. 
  • Green T 
    An interest group that aims to promote environmental sustainability in Tembusu College by providing the infrastructure and small reminders for lifestyle change. 
  • NUS College (NUSC) EcoPlanet
    A collaborative successor to Yale-NUS I'dEco and USPlanet, this student group is dedicated to fostering environmental responsibility by enabling action and dialogue on campus, and provides students with resources and opportunities to take action via projects, workshops, discussions and research. 
  • RV FoRestore
    A student interest group of the Ridge View Residential College that aims to raise awareness, interest and appreciation of Singapore’s forests through hands-on involvement. 
  • Temasek Green
    A student environmental group based in Temasek Hall. 
  • Tembusu Wild (tWild)
    A student-initiated project in Tembusu College to champion biodiversity and wildlife conservation in Singapore and other countries. 
  • BES Drongos
    A group of nature lovers from the Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) programme who have come together to manage guided nature walks open to everyone and anyone. 
  • BES Student Committee
    A representative student body for Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES) students that aims to create stronger awareness and to promote community engagement for environmental conservation. 
  • EVBig
    A nature group under the NUS Life Sciences Society set up for students by students, which aims to provide academic, career, and enrichment opportunities to students with a passion for environmental biology. 
  • LKYSPP Sustainable Finance Group
    A student club at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) dedicated to exploring the intersection of finance, sustainability and public policy.
