The talk features Professor Dr Johan Rockstrom of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, an internationally recognised scientist on global sustainability issues who led the development of the Planetary Boundaries framework. Prof Rockstrom will be providing a scientific update of Earth system risks and planetary boundaries science, and highlighting key transformations towards a safe landing on Earth.

This seminar by Prof Zhang Guoping from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, aims to open discussion on next-generation cements that are designed to invert the carbon emissions from current cement manufacturing pathway, to reverse the overconsumption of limestone (a raw material for cement), and to further utilise ubiquitous and abundant silicate-bearing wastes such as mine tailings.
